As it has been since the beginning of the construction of the shipyard at Enseada, Children’s Day was celebrated by the company in another social responsibility initiative that took place from October 9-11. The action took place at the headquarters of COBEPA, in São Roque do Paraguaçu, and 90 children were contemplated. On days 10 and 11, actions in the communities of Enseada do Paraguaçu, Guaí / Capanema, Porto da Pedra and Conceição de Salinas completed the celebration with 261 more children.
The celebrations were made possible through a partnership between the Enseada Shipyard and the São Roque Warrior Women’s Association, with the purpose of providing a playful and special moment for the needy children of the locality who, in their routine class activities, wrote letters with the their requests, without knowing the initiative of the company, being attended by the members of the Enseada and the partner companies: Ocyan, Copa Engineering, GPS and Gereré Tour.
The recognition of this initiative was expressed through the manifestation of the President of the Association, Jaqueline Medina: “We would like to thank the Enseada, partners and all the collaborators who welcomed us, welcoming and embracing our beautiful cause. They have been immediately available to help and make happy children, to realize dreams and encourage them to study, joining forces so that everything that already happens can always improve. ”
According to Mario Moura, Enseada’s industrial manager, actions such as this make enchanted smiles emerge in each of the children who received their gifts, such as balls, dolls, carts, bicycles, stuffed animals and educational games. It was an entertaining and exciting moment, with presentations and distribution of gifts.
Cristina Mascarenhas, manager of sustainability, adds that in 2018 we surpassed the goal by presenting a total of 351 children from these communities. Promoting campaigns of this nature represents not only the realization of the dreams of many children, but, mainly, it establishes an approach with the communities around the Enseada shipyard, allowing a greater social interaction with its residents.
